Hemp used to be the sort of thing that mostly hippie types talked about. Maybe, like me, you made or owned a few hemp macrame necklaces? The nutritious, multi-purpose, earth-friendly, easy-to grow aspects of hemp were always a big deal for tree-huggers. When I designed my very first skincare recipe I also included hemp oil as one of the ingredients. It cleared my skin, and helped launch Blissoma. These days there's a lot more research happening in the hemp industry. That's partly because of increased legal protections for hemp growing and products in the USA, and because more people are experiencing the benefits of compounds like CBD. If you have skin that's prone to inflammation hemp will be one of your best ingredients to keep skin clear and calm. But there really aren't many beauty products that truly feature hemp oil. Luckily we've figured out how to get good amounts of it in our formulations so you get the benefits. | | How hemp works on your skin | | Hemp oil is a rich source of cannabinoid compounds. Endocannabinoids are cannabinoids that are produced in your own body instead of in a plant. The plant based version are phytocannabinoids. Phytocannabinoids from hemp oil interact with your skin cells to help skin cope with stress. The skin's endocannabinoid system is hugely important for skin regulation. Cells have receptors where they link up with messenger molecules like cannnabinoids from hemp. The CB1 and CB2 receptor sites are present in a variety of skin cells such as keratinocytes, melanocytes, and dermal fibroblasts. These cells can show up in the epidermal layer, oil glands, and hair follicles. When you give your skin hemp seed oil you're sending calming, supportive messages to your cells in a language they understand. What's even better is that scientific studies have proven that you don't have to be using a high CBD hemp product to get big benefits. ( source) One study confirmed that inflammatory acne lesions could be reduced by as much as 42.5% when using hemp seed oil in skincare! ( source) You can see the huge improvements to Bailee's skin below after she used Blissoma skincare products featuring hemp seed oil. | | Hemp seed oil is also good for any skin type. But real, unrefined, fresh hemp seed oil is almost never in products you'll find on store shelves! That's because hemp is a delicate oil with a lot of Omega 3 fatty acids. It does NOT like to be heated, and it has a shorter shelf life than other oils. Most companies don't include real hemp seed oil in their products, or they only include it as a tiny percent. It might be heavily refined too. That means no big benefits. | | We blend our recipes carefully to keep the hemp oil fresh in Blissoma products. Our batch sizes are small, and we ship product directly from our facility to you. Our careful sourcing, production protocols, and freshness practices are why our products work. Your skin will really notice the difference. Wishing you happy skin always! - Julie | | See what hemp seed oil skincare can do for you: | | | Flawless - Clear Condition Facial Oil |
