We'll dive into a real cold plunge story & protocol that tripled a Navy Seal's testosterone levels in weeks, but first let's understand the science of how cold plunging can increase testosterone levels… There are two primary means by which cold plunging can increase testosterone levels. #1: It Increases HGH (Human Growth Hormone) One study published in the European Journal of Applied Physiology found that cold water immersion increased levels of growth hormone, which plays a key role in muscle growth and repair. Whereas growth hormone doesn't cause an increase in testosterone, higher levels of lean muscle mass (and lower levels of fat) have been shown to have a positive impact on testosterone over time. That's because adipose (fat) tissue contains the enzyme aromatase, which converts testosterone into estrogen, leading to reduced levels of circulating testosterone. #2: It Increases the Release of Norepinephrine Another study published in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research found that cold water immersion increased levels of norepinephrine, a hormone that plays a fundamental role in the body's fight or flight response. Additionally, norepinephrine can affect the release of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) from the hypothalamus. GnRH stimulates the production of luteinizing hormone (LH) from the pituitary gland, which in turn stimulates the testes to produce testosterone. Therefore, norepinephrine can have an indirect effect on testosterone production by influencing the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis. Now, take it from one of our real customers & Inergize cold plunging fanatics—Phillip Fong—to see this in action. | | "Before I started cold plunging, my testosterone levels ranged from the 300s to 800s… my testosterone levels consistently increased to between 1100 and 1400." -Philip Fong "I am writing to share my experience with the Inergize Cold Plunge and the remarkable impact it has had on my health. While serving on active duty in the US Navy, I contracted cerebral malaria and encephalitis during a mission in Africa. These illnesses affected my natural testosterone production, requiring me to supplement to maintain normal levels. Before discovering the need for testosterone supplementation, I struggled with maintaining my military body composition, suffered from sleep apnea, and experienced constant fatigue and irritability. In 2023, Operation Healing Forces generously provided me with an Inergize Cold Plunge, marking the beginning of my journey towards better health. Initially, I would plunge daily in temperatures as low as 37°F for 3-5 minutes. These days, I vary my routine, plunging 3-4 days a week at temperatures between 40-45°F for 3-5 minutes. I adjust the timing of my plunges based on my workouts—before heavy lifting sessions and after cardio workouts. One of the most significant benefits I've experienced is the improvement in my testosterone levels. Before I started cold plunging, my testosterone levels ranged from the 300s to 800s, depending on when I took my dose and had my bloodwork done. After incorporating cold plunging and additional vitamin D into my routine, I saw a dramatic rise in my testosterone levels. Despite my doctors' initial concerns, I had maintained the same dose of testosterone since 2016. By late 2023, my testosterone levels had consistently increased to between 1100 and 1400. I am scheduled to visit my endocrinologist soon, and I anticipate an adjustment to my dosage. However, I feel great and continue to train daily, thanks to the benefits of cold plunging. Thank you for taking the time to read my testimonial. I hope my experience can help others who may be facing similar challenges. Best regards, Phillip Fong"
