DIY Whipped shea butter is super simple to make. When we had classes at our studio people had fun making it, and were thrilled with their results.

It's also a crafty holiday project you can do with kids or a couple friends. Connecting over experiences like this is what makes the holidays special.

We stock the Shea Butter and essential oils you'll need for this project.

Currently we're out of Argan oil, but you can sub in a good quality Grapeseed or Jojoba oil, or just double the Sunflower oil.

You'll also need a mixer, spatulas, and glass jars for your finished butter.

Here are the ingredients you need for DIY whipped shea butter.

16 oz (1 lb) Shea Butter, broken into small pieces
2 oz Organic Grapeseed or Jojoba Oil
2 oz Organic Sunflower Seed Oil
2 TBSP Organic Arrowroot Powder or Organic Cornstarch (optional)
6 ml or 180 drops essential oils of your choice (optional)

To make a cooling, "candy cane" butter use our premium Peppermint essential oil. Start with just 3 ml or 90 drops and see how you like it at that level and work up to a mintyness that suits you.

Wrap your jars in red and white striped paper to gift them!
