The night our campground became a swamp

We all have a few tales of camping trips gone wrong. Well mine was five years ago, just before Covid. We camped at what we now call "Mud Lake" Campground. The first evening was perfect – clear skies, great campfire, total tranquility. Then came the overnight downpour. A night of torrential rain revealed a morning of pure chaos — our campground had transformed into a swamp. Cars stuck everywhere, tents collapsed, and soaked campers frantically packing. With our 4-wheel drive, we became the unofficial rescue team, pulling out vehicle after vehicle. The locals later told us this was an annual spring tradition at this campground.
