From John Danaher:
I am very happy to announce the release of my latest instructional video MASTER THE MOVE: THE TOREANDO GUARD PASS.
This method of passing has always been of staple of Jiu Jitsu both gi and no gi. My students make extensive use of it in modern no gi competitions with outstanding results.
In this video I breakdown exactly how we use this method of passing from first contact through to a successful guard pass.
What to look for, how to grip, the problems you'll need to overcome and how multiple solutions work together to make it extremely difficult for even very skilled guard player to stop you from passing from outside into strong pins and back takes.
Done well, good toreando passing does not rely on speed but more so misdirection and the ability to create a threat on one side and pass on the other.
This video will show exactly how to do this so that you can pass repeatedly and with a clear sense of knowing exactly what you're doing and thus create a repeatable skill rather than just a spontaneous action that leaves you wondering how you did it or why you failed. If strong guard passing from outside against tricky guard players is something you're interested in - check it out!
